Auctioneers Note:
Because so many more people wanted to give, we created an online auction for Seth Poling.
Seth, a Buckhannon, WV native who is loved by his community; is battling ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Seth, his family and the community have displayed incredible strength in their relationships in all of Upshur County, WV and beyond.
This Fundraiser is intended for those who have been able to donate but weren’t able to attend the Dinner Fundraiser that took place on November 2nd. The event was held at the Chapel Hill UMC. 500 dinners were sold by 7:00 PM and a fiery auction concluded the evening. The event raised over $25,000.
It was an incredible display of love and giving from a small community. It shows the kind of impact that Seth poling has made on his friends and family throughout his life. It shows what kind of people live and raise their family in Buckhannon, WV. It shows HOW they LIVE.
Seth and his wife Erika have a young child and one on the way! They are extremely proud and excellent parents. They have reached out and researched and have been through incredible extensive lengths about assistance with ALS. The disease is also known as motor neuron disease (MND), or Lou Gehrig's disease, is a specific disease which causes the death of neurons controlling voluntary muscles.
Seth will need more and more assistance as his symptoms worsen, which means more home provisions and special construction in their home. The family is incredibly grateful for the community stepping up to help fund these costly needs. Seth has displayed an unbelievable amount of courage, his attitude, outlook on life and character is looked up to by many. Many people thank Seth for the example he sets for us all.
